I can't thank you enough for your editorial help with Rona Barrett's lavender cookbook. I knew when I recommended you that your sensitivity and insight would help Ms. Rona complete her project with alacrity and accuracy, and she seems to be as happy with the result as I am. I'm glad to know someone like you I can rely on. Let's do this again!

EDITING
Download my resume here. See my editing experience here.

Editing is delicate work. A good editor must possess mastery of her chosen language, faultless diplomacy, courage in the face of injured pride, and the tenacity of a bulldognot necessarily in that order.

My goal as your editor is to make your work sound like you, only better. I leave your voice as the author intact, but clarify (and usually enhance) the message you're trying to convey.

My editing clients have come to count on me for accuracy, timeliness, and quality. One of these same customers once asked me, "Why shouldn't I just let Word proofread this for me?My answer: "Well, did you mean to call it a 'pubic address' on page three?" Needless to say, I got the job.

Please note: Editing and proofreading, while related, are two different animals. Editing involves checking sentences, tables, and figures for meaning and sense; modifying copy structure if necessary; and evaluating the work's overall impression. Proofreading, on the other hand, while equally necessary (and best not left to Word), is a more rudimentary check for misspelled words, missing or incorrect punctuation, and technical foul-ups such as backwards page numbers, two ands together, one sentence on a page by itself, etc.

I offer both of these services, since I consider them each a necessary process for any written work, from a three-paragraph business letter to a full-length novel.
